Favourite skincare products

I had a terrible skin since I was a teenager. It’s all kinds of terrible combined, actually. I still can’t understand how it’s even possible to have dehydrated, acne prone and super oily skin all in one.

I wanted to share a couple of products that are absolute life savers when it comes to my skincare. This is just a part of my skincare routine. Let me know if you would be interested to see the whole range of products I use to cope with dehydration, oil and acne prone skin all at the same time!

1. Antipodes: Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream

This is a new addition to my skincare routine. I bought this Antipodes day cream a couple of weeks ago from Wholefoods. It’s quite light and great for the day time. I love this cream because it contains natural ingredients, like 100% pure avocado pear oil with Vitamins A, B, C, E as well as chlorophyll and Omegas 3, 6 and 9 – all excellent antioxidants.

I don’t experience any dehydration or excess oils throughout the day wearing this cream. What made me buy it was two other ingredients – Manuka Honey and Rosehip Oil. These two ingredients do wonders on my skin. Manuka honey is supposed to heal and has antibacterial qualities which is perfect for my sensitive and acne prone skin. I actually have a wonderful face mask recipe using honey, and I might write another blog post about it! Rosehip oil is my love. My skin gets affected by all kinds of things, be it travel, weather changes (which we experience oh too often here in London), stress…you name it! Rosehip oil moisturises my skin and visibly reduces post acne scars and redness which I get quite often.

I can’t say too much about this Antipodes cream just yet, as this is a very recent addition, but so far I’m very happy with it and it became my staple.

2. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream

This cream is a life saver. Literally, not only me but also my boyfriend both swear by this cream. This is a great cream for very sensitive skin as it doesn’t contain any parabens and harsh chemicals.

I often use this cream at night time as it’s quite rich and thick, providing deep hydration for my dehydrated skin. If I’m not wearing any make-up for the day then I would use this cream in the morning too. It helps to repair my skin when I’m particularly stressed and looking awful, it also helps coping with weather changes, as it’s suitable for use in harsh winter weather. After using this cream I noticed visible scar reduction and just the overall look of my skin improved greatly.

I want to add that if you’re suffering from dermatitis, eczema and allergic skin reactions literally to ANYTHING, then give this cream a try! My boyfriend, who suffered from very, VERY serious cases of dermatitis and allergies got rid of his skin problems after using this cream. Seriously, I’m not even paid to say this. This cream literally saved him, when nothing else worked for a couple of years.

3. Shiseido Ibuki Beauty Sleeping Mask

I use this cream at night together with First Aid Beauty cream I mentioned above, as I feel that this sleeping mask alone doesn’t provide enough hydration. But this is another product I swear by.

It is an overnight gel consistency mask with little vitamin capsules. It contains Vitamin C and E, which both help to brighten your skin and give it this radiant look in the morning. I loved it from the first time I used it, and I noticed the effect from the first morning. I love this mask and continue using it every night.

However, as I mentioned above, I would recommend using this mask together with other night moisturisers if you have a dehydrated skin like I do!

4. Sea Sponge

I want to add an extra product to this post. It’s my natural sea sponge which I use to wash my face about three times a week. It works great as an exfoliator, as I’m not a big fan of exfoliating soaps. I would recommend getting one if you want something natural to use as an exfoliator!
